A Word From The President
Hon. John J. Valdini
It is with great enthusiasm and pride that I begin my term as president of SCVOA. I step into this role fully committed to serving our villages and advancing our shared mission.
First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to my predecessor, Mayor Dennis Siry, for his dedicated service and leadership. His guidance, as well as the guidance of all of our past presidents, has paved the way for our organization’s continued growth and success, and I am committed to building upon this legacy.
As we embark on this new chapter together, I am inspired by the collective expertise and passion of our Executive Board members, village mayors, and Associate Members. Each one brings a unique perspective and set of skills to the table, and in the spirit of collaboration and partnership, I believe we have an unparalleled opportunity to navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the 32 villages. Our ability to work with the villages we serve will determine our success in helping to drive sustainable progress and the high quality of village life.
In the face of a rapidly evolving landscape, our organization must remain innovative and resilient – and, most important, we must continue our strong advocacy for local control and “home rule.” Central to our mission is our unwavering commitment to the highest standards of village governance. As stewards of our organization’s resources and collective voice for the villages, we must prioritize the needs of the villages we serve and help to ensure that every voice is heard and valued. Together, we will write the next chapter of SCVOA’s story—one defined by purpose, dedication to village life, and shared success.
